Ok -- what did they do with the printed bezel then ?

This Asteroids to Trek conversion I'm working on has the printed cardboard
'bezel' right under the front 'glass' (read crappy piece of plexi).

I stuck the smoked glass from my Space Duel on, and it looks much beter with
the tint. I'm thinking if I use a piece of smoked plexi, which should be
thinner than the original glass, I can sandwich the cardboard picture
between a piece of clear and the smoked, giving the picture that "floating
in space feel, while haveing the artwork protected in front.
