I just picked up a Major Havoc dedicated, shipped from the seller working.
However, when it reached here, I had the 'clicking' problem
(click-click-click and coin lights flash). A while back someone has a
similar problem w/ a Space Duel, thinking that it was the AVG, however I
don't think that conclusive results were found.
Before I go digging in the archives, net, etc., I was wondering if anyone
had some pointers or references to this type of problem, aka, what causes it
(is it a diagnostic condition on the boardset?).
Initially, I plan on the following (more for maintenance more than solving
the problem):
- Checking the solder joints and voltages on the PS/regulator (not under
load for the time being).
- Checking the solder joints on the monitor/deflection boards.
- Checking and reseating the chips on the PCB.
- Cleaning the edge connector(s).
