Yes. To give a small anecdote of personal stupidity: When working on the
HV for one of my machines, I noticed that ever time I tried to ground out
the HV, nothing happened. I figured it must be one of those self-discharging
types, and stoped bothering as I repeatedly removed the HV section trying to
fix it.

The upshot should be obvious. It wasn't self discharging. There was no HV
because THAT'S WHAT I WAS TRYING TO FIX, you big dummy. :-)

Luckily, once it was finally working, there was no longer any reason to
remove the HV cage, right ? Oh yeah, I just have to put the shield back on.
No problem, I'll just stick my hand in there . . . say, why are all the
hairs on the back of my hand sticking up . . .
