I've heard the Lunar Lander manual has a theory of operation section which
helps clarify the Atari vectors in general.

Agreed! It's only my limited knowledge of how the vector games work that
makes
it hard. Actually... a lot of the early Atari raster games had a theory of
operation with them. Is there any for the Atari vectors? I learn't more
from
reading them than anything else.
