AFAIK, most or all of the sounds in Asteroids are generated by separate
analog circuits so you will need to troubleshoot each sound separately.
Replacing the electrolytic caps in the audio section of the board with a
problem may resolve some of your issues.

Second problem is when I turn the machine on and begin playing the
shooting sounds are correct but after a few seconds the turn into some
mechanical "clang" sound. Also when the saucers are firing it makes some
strange sound. The background sounds, thrust sounds are OK.
