VECTOR: Removing CP Overlays

I'm about to remove an old control panel overlay off my Ast Dlx.

So...what does everyone use to get the old sticky goop off?

I was thinking acetone or maybe turpentine.
But, before I get started I wanted to know what others have used.
Successes? Failures?
