When I replaced my Tempest CPO (with a repro that had typos on it -
grrrrrr), I used a scraper and paint thinner, then sanded it down afterward.
If you can get something large enough to let the CPO soak a bit (like a big
disposable roasting pan), the goo should come off pretty easily.
