VECTOR: Red is now dead.

I placed a red amplifone transformer onto an otherwise working HV board.
When I powered it up, I heard the windings in the transformer fry. Now
it is dead.

Is my BU406D marginal (it did test good) and that's why this happened?

I don't want to place a wintron into the board, just to have it fry..
