Maxim has a nice new dual 12bit V-out DAC that would make a good vector
generator-driver. Not too bad price-wise either-- sub $20 in realistic
volumes (25+).

After I finish the Pacman Sync Bus Controller replacement chip I'm going
to take a crack at a hardware-based vector drawing CPLD...
